  • Yes indeed Randy, the request line was a major part of our shows back then.

    I really miss that element in today's radio. Back then, the DJs were your friends and you liked hearing them talk to you like a friend. Unfortunately the self-anointed "consultants" came into the picture and destroyed everything that was good about the medium.

    Today it's so impersonal, automated and mechanical . . . with the exception of a few shows on SIRIUS and XM featuring some the old-time jocks from the 60's 70's and 80's.

    And yes, my daughter is now 38! How time flies when you're having FUN!!!

  • ohhh...those were the days. I started when I was 16 (40 now) and remember this set up well. I have an old, 3 deck cart machine in my attic. Is that a TEAC behind your daughter??? lol
