I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Vocal Coach
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
Hello,
After careful consideration I decided to move from Los Angeles to Tokyo, Japan. I've lived here previously, but being absent from any place for 12 years means you don't return to exactly what you left. And so it is true here.
I brought with me a Public Speaking concept which I developed while in LA, and taught in some area Colleges. Working in VO & On-camera work, I'll promote my training for Public Speaking & Presentations in English, here in Japan and around Asia.
My "studio" is up-n-running. I live in a Hi-rise with a noisy road down below. I can close off most of it and on weekends, the noise diminishes allowing me to record quite nicely.
I ditched 'Pro Tools' early last year and replaced it with Twisted Wave. An excellent decision. No spinning Beachball, no hanging, no 48 tracks to deal with. And I had studied ProTools, became pretty good at it. But most of us don't need it... check out TW, the Support is exceptional.
VO is in turmoil in the US with many pay-2-play on-line agencies allowing/encouraging lo-ball bidding. I'm not interested in winning the 'Race to the Bottom'. I hope quality will win out in the end.
While in LA, I Volunteer recorded for the Braille Institute & RFBD. I support volunteer activities and if you're looking for a way to get mic time, or get connected, or just feel good... volunteer to Read for people who can't.
RECENTLY BOOKED PROJECTS
Most recent VO was for National Geographic to be Broadcast on FOX-TV in Tokyo. My 2nd year for this program. Participated weekly in an NHK TV program "Science View" as well as other Corporate Training & Commercial Productions.
