    Hi Tom, your website is really good. Easy to navigate, and right to the point. all things I appreciate personally. Cold calling questions - first you should visit the group on VU called "Marketing for Fun and Profit" as there are amazing gems of information in there addressing this very subject, and people that do that on a regular basis. I don't direct market too much, just some. Second I would say you have to think about the flow of the transaction. 1) Find the person responsible for supplying the voices and cold call that person. Is it an ad agency? A talent agency or marketing agency? Casting director? Once you know who that person is you can usually find out their protocol for getting voices, perhaps they have a roster of talent at hand you can join. This applies to larger organizations. For smaller Mom & Pop shops just call them directly and be your own ad agency. I.e.: Hello, this is Tom Cook. Do have a moment that I can ask for your help? You do, great. I'm a Voice Actor just like you hear on the internet, TV and Radio, who can I speak to about offering my voice services? Mr. Jones? Thank you so much. What do you think is the best time to call when he isn't too busy? after 2 pm on thursdays? - great. I'll call when he isn't too busy. That's how I start, then you just need to roll with the conversation and how if flows. Just be sure you know exactly what you can offer and in the discussion with Mr. Jones, think of and identify specific ways your voice services will help him and his organization in an easy to understand way. It's symbiotic relationship. You show him how to make money, reach more customers, increase sales and you will sell your voice services. You know how they say in scripts....keep it conversational? Do that in your cold calls and you'll go further than you ever dreamed.
