  • Hey Steph! Thanks for the invite! I am definitely going to have to download your podcasts to my blackberry!!
  • Top of the morning? Very Irish.....

Now to tea, a subject close to my heart. Best cup of tea is in the Fountain Bar at Fortnum & Masons in Piccadilly in London. There are a selection of teas, but the best for me is their Royal Blend with milk and sugar (served with tongs of course). No tea bags and a little silver strainer - the real deal. Naturally, you have to pour the milk into the cup before pouring the tea.

For every day tea, it has to be "builders' tea". I have at least half a dozen a day being a true Brit. This is how it is done. One tea bag (PG Tips) of a basic blend of Indian tea, not particularly good quality but that doesn't matter. Then put the tea bag in a decent sized mug. Pour on boling water and leave for 30 seconds. Pour in lots of milk. It then looks very weak and unappetising. Use a teaspoon to squeeze the teabag and stir it around until the brew reaches a good brown colour. The point of all this is that the flavour of the tea goes into the milk as well. Usually I drink this without sugar, but going into sessions as a treat I add 2 teaspoons.

It is all a matter of personal taste. I cannot bear the scented teas such as Earl Grey and Lapson Suchong.....nor do I like the fruit flavoured teas. Mint tea in Africa is good though.

And that ends my essay! Feel free to stick it in your tea report.

I have just got back from holiday......I have no work......my career is obviously over and I will now step out of the window (but not before one last mug of tea!). Funny how the impetus vanishes when away for a little while.

P.S - Laurynda is great. I had to send her some cyber flowers the other day.

  • Hi there! Thanks for the invite! I am interested in voices.com and as I am on a different one now, and why not double my chances of more booking jobs!!!! I would however like to wait a little while longer till I can get all my studio stuff up and running! Best, Jessie Gilman
  • hi, Stephanie. Guess what, I'm LOST fan, too! It's my favorite show, followed closely by House and by Masterpiece. Guess we are two of a kind?! I love opera, too, and trained as a soprano when I was a kid. However, I ruined my voice by too much yelling at sporting events and now I'm an alto and the tubes are wrecked. But I have great control of my voice and a good ear, which makes it easy to do lots of interesting character voices.
Congrats with Voice.com You are a mover and shaker.
    Take care,
    roxanne
