"Hey Corey,
I have a question for you. This has been eating at me for a while now. I had a new agent about this time last year and I auditioned for a Universal studios radio commercial. I auditioned from my home studio and it was a one word audition.…"

Hi there! Things are good. A little slow maybe. I just took some demos up to some LA agents so I have my fingers crossed (again). I made a cute package using a clear plastic paint can, some gel clings you see in windows and a flashy-blinky…"

"Hi Bettye!
Thanks for checking out my page! That is pretty amazing that you had your own show at age 6! I did commercials whenever my Dad wondered in and said, "Hey, I need a back to school voice" or "I need another elf" or "hey, who does the best…"

"Hey Tracy,
You are right, it was David, not Brian. He was pretty cool. I got to do classic military chic for him and Janet (Wasp) for Pat, who was also Japanese American. Hee-hee."

"Hey Tracy!
I took the Sunday class and really liked it. He is a tough but good teacher and I appreciated the class a lot. It was great meeting Brian too and having him direct us. What did you think?"

You asked for a critique so here goes...You are definitely an imaging/promo guy. Massaging the words is required for imaging and promo but less so for commercial copy. I could still hear you working the words too much in the commercial…"

  • Well you definitely grabbed my attention describing the packaging of the demo-love to see a picture of it-sounded very clever! When I first joined VU I spoke to Lani-extremely knowledgeable and great characters.I'd be interested to hear how the Marc Cashman thing goes. I voiced the only character for game animated by an astounding animator from LA who has done work for Battlestar Gallactica,CSI,Termintaor Sarah Connors Chronicles. This game is going to be great and very funny-that's all I can say for the moment. There will be a trailer for it too. This is kind of a slow part of the year but I did some website narrations, a big Textron narration and small fast gigs. I try to keep this site updated with all the latest ( I just love doing this stuff! Take care Shelly-I'll drop you a line every now and then to check up on ya! Ed : )
  • What's shakin' Shelly? Thought i'd say hi! Hope you're keeping busy. Stay well. Ed : )

  • Just telling it like it is Shelly. Thanks for your kind words. If I hear of anyone looking for a talented female voice actor,I'll contact you.I'm very serious writing this and am having a hard time as I hear some of your more comical characters voices on the demo! Thanks for your kind words. Ed
  • Hey Shelley. Let's play the game, "who was on the radio at the I had my own child radio show on WDAF radio in Kansas City at age six. I like your page here. Let's connect.
  • Loved it, but my memory fails me. I don't remember Brian, we had David Fries and Vanessa Marshall. I got the "Psycho Japanese School Girl" copy, scary appropriate.
  • I took Pat Fraley's video game workshop a couple of weeks ago and I saw your name on the list. Did you like it?
  • sound great! And I recognize you now from many spots.
  • Shelly
Much thanks for the critique. I will try your suggestion of taking off the phones. I do tend to "listen to myself" too much instead of interpreting the copy. Old radio habits die sloowwwly.

  • Thanks for the compliment Shelly! Like your demos as well. :)
