I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Copy Writer, Studio Engineer, Creative Director, Voiceover Coach
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I have been working as a voice actor and coach for 16+ years in San Diego, CA. My partner, James R. Alburger, and I own VoiceActing.com and The VoiceActing Academy. I am the author of Demo & Marketing Magic for Voice Actors and I am the co-Executive Producer of VOICE, (The VoiceOver International Creative Experience) which is the only convention specifically designed for voice actors.
I am also the VERY proud grandma to three beautiful little girls and one little boy - all under the age of 6. They keep me running, but being a grandma ROCKS! See their pictures below in the slide show! I'm just a "little" proud of them!

Still need to set up some time with you and James. Been having to really sprint to keep up with projects for that tiny little company I work for. 8-P
Best to you,

Thank you so much for the welcome. It means very much to me. Sometimes I wonder if getting involved in VOs is nothing but a pipe dream...I mean - come on, at 50 years old can I really hope to achieve anything in such a competitive world filled with younger and more energetic people??
The problem with that is: I don't think I can't do it. Every time I'm in front of that mic it just feels so RIGHT.
Fortunately my wife is incredibly supportive and because she sees in me the passion I have for this she has announced that I will face serious consequences if I give up on this strange, weird yet wonderful dream of mine.
After falling into this by accident (I had to voice some training films we were producing when our announcer never showed up) I had to go out to find out how I can do more of this. I discovered Jame's book in the library and devoured it (2nd ed) and now have the 3rd edition on order along with some others. I built a studio so that I have someplace to record and now have a voice coach I am very happy with (Debbie Munro). I am saving my pennies to hopefully participate in Voice 2010 so long as the military will allow me the time off to take leave. In the mean time I will be continuing to study, work with Debbie, produce a demo when I am ready and absolutely refuse to say to myself when I turn 60 if only I had given it a shot...
Thanks again Penny

Thanks for the invite! I'd love to join your group, but am new to this system, and can't seem to find a link so that I might actually join.
Suggestions?
Thank you.
I'm looking forward to great things,
Jodi
If I could just get that first gig I know someone would like what they hear.
Looking forward to talking to you again soon.
