I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Copy Writer, Studio Engineer, Creative Director, Voiceover Coach
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I have been working as a voice actor and coach for 16+ years in San Diego, CA. My partner, James R. Alburger, and I own VoiceActing.com and The VoiceActing Academy. I am the author of Demo & Marketing Magic for Voice Actors and I am the co-Executive Producer of VOICE, (The VoiceOver International Creative Experience) which is the only convention specifically designed for voice actors.
I am also the VERY proud grandma to three beautiful little girls and one little boy - all under the age of 6. They keep me running, but being a grandma ROCKS! See their pictures below in the slide show! I'm just a "little" proud of them!

Thanks for reaching out to say hello. I am thrilled to be here and I have already learned so much in the short time I have been on VU.

and thank you very much for the warm welcome, and for the invite. I had heard a lot of good things about this community from a very good friend of mine.
Thank you again, and in the meantime, have great weekend.

And hello to James!!
Anyway, I am 51 and have been married for 28 years come July. We never had children, but I raise dogs. I just finished my first children's book called Now Can I Have A Dog?
Where abouts do you live. I live in Kelowna BC up in the Okanagan there eh. My husband is Canadian and is going to be retiring from the Fire Department next month. Right now he is the assistant chief here in Kelowna. He is creative in his own right too...he is musical. He plays the accordion and just about anything else he picks up. We share the same odd sense of humor which has made it a very comfortable match. He is very supportive in what I do. But, being an artistic creative person I admit to having the tendancy of insecurity in myself. Sometimes thinking "am I one of those idiots on American Idol that think they have talent?" That is one of my voices. Fortunately it doesn't rear it's head that often anymore. Also being artistic I don't follow through or promote myself very well....that's where the permission to "kick in the butt" comes in...for my own good.
Looking forward to being a part of the VO family,
Barb
