I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Copy Writer, Studio Engineer, Creative Director, Voiceover Coach
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I have been working as a voice actor and coach for 16+ years in San Diego, CA. My partner, James R. Alburger, and I own VoiceActing.com and The VoiceActing Academy. I am the author of Demo & Marketing Magic for Voice Actors and I am the co-Executive Producer of VOICE, (The VoiceOver International Creative Experience) which is the only convention specifically designed for voice actors.
I am also the VERY proud grandma to three beautiful little girls and one little boy - all under the age of 6. They keep me running, but being a grandma ROCKS! See their pictures below in the slide show! I'm just a "little" proud of them!

I'll surely follow your advice & will get back to update you about the progress.
Keep inspiring the world...
Yes, I think I can help you. I have a similar problem once in a while. I generally hear from my director, “You’re going a little throaty – or raspy.” I find it happens most when I am tired or after I have eaten anything with milk in it.
Here are several things I do that seem to help.
1. I avoid dairy products when I know I will be recording.
2. I get plenty of rest.
3. When I feel myself going too low in my voice register, I use this physical exercise as I am performing: I stand up very straight and tall, lifting my chest, and opening my lungs. Sometimes, I even raise up on my toes a little to get a slightly higher pitch in my voice. I “think” higher by imagining my voice higher in my head.
4. I make sure to stand – rather than sit. When I’m doing something very long, I will lean against a stool. If I sit, it seems to make the problem worse.
5. I use olive oil to coat my throat and mouth. I know it sounds strange, but this is an amazing tool. Singers use it a lot before performances. Just take about a tablespoon, swish it around in your mouth and then swallow. It isn’t the best tasting thing in the world – but it’s not the worst and it truly works.
See if any of these help you and let me know, will you? Learning to place your voice in a different place in your body is a skill and it can be learned.
Best of luck!

Have you tried your Pimms yet? Finally summer has arrived here and I am popping off to get a bottle right now! It will surely lubricate the tonsils for the rather dull corporate I have to record this evening!
And your Britspeak lesson for the day as delivered by Eliza Doolittle is.....The Rain in Spain stays mainly in the plains.....Practice, and see me after class.
Have a spiffing weekend old bean.
