I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
(from bio) Starting as an actor in New York, Paul Pape got his break when he was cast to co-star in "Saturday Night Fever". With nearly 6000 voice-over credits alone in his 34 year career, Paul has been heard in almost every form of media; including commercials, narrations, promos & trailers, animated features, television series, feature films, movies of the week and video games. He is considered one of the leading voices in the ADR field (Automated Dialogue Replacement), having worked on over 120 television series and many of the biggest blockbuster movies of recent years. Video game powerhouse Electronic Arts gave Paul an award for both his voice-over and on-camera performance in "Black", a #1 video game that has sold over two million copies in the U.S. and Britain. Other recent credits include promos for President Obama and the Democratic National Committee, the Starz Channel, Fox Sports Network and HBO, as well as narrations for industrial clients such as Raytheon and the Boeing Corporation. Paul was honored to narrate a video for the Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards when they presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to his best friend, the late Don LaFontaine, at the Kodak Theater. In addition to doing voice-over work, Paul serves on the Board of Directors of the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. Having conceived the idea to build the Don LaFontaine Voice-over Lab, he was joined in the effort by fellow co-founders Joe Cipriano and George Whittam. Located at the Foundation's Actors Center in Los Angeles, the Lab opened in June of 2010.

I am so sorry for your loss. No one will ever be able to take away the moments you shared with him or your friendship.
Glad that you are there for his family. Peace, Jessie Gilman
God Bless You!

I'm a bit conflicted - The Thursday evening before Don went to the hospital, I created a video parody for my personal website, featuring Don and his Limo. I sent him an e-mail asking him to view it as I had "borrowed" his limo for my own. He replied late that evening that "I should keep the limo - his gift to me". He has always been my "voiceover hero" as we are both baritones.
Now, I don't know whether to leave the video up or take it down. What I do know - is that it was sincerely kind of him to reply to a little fish like me.
Your best pal was indeed a kind and gentle man and I can only echo David Marc's reply to you.
Thank you for keeping us informed and may Don be granted the peace he so richly deserves.

You are AWESOME and a "minch".
May good luck continue to be your companion!

Thanks for you hard work.
I had the opportunity to listen to the panel you were on at Voice - thanks for taking the time to spend the afternoon sharing your story.

Just wanted to let you know my prayers go out to you as well. It is beyond difficult to watch someone you love and are close to go through such rough times. May God give you the strength, peace, and comfort you need during this most trying time.
By the way,it was obvious to me how much Don thought of you. I had asked him what brought him to Voiceover Universe and he said "I was invited by my best friend Paul Pape". Best friends don't come along too often and they are such a treasure.
All my best,
Dina
With love
