"I like BC... but ya don't get alot of variety with him. Wells stuff sounds good.

Hey... Question, is that voiceregistry.com getting you any hits (or work) I'm on the hunt for an agent and was thinking of signing up for that."

  • Hi Neil! Welcome aboard!!!

I hope this will be a great experience for you and that you'll make a lot of new friends - and keep in touch with old ones.

Also, I hope you'll check out a group that we just started called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. And with your experience, you would be a tremendous resource!

Again welcome! I trust our paths will cross soon!

    Best to ya!

Are you at the GBoro location or Raleigh? If Raleigh then you get to work with Mike Urben. Hands down the best commercial VO in the whole market. Mike is also the VO for many Salem news/talk stations. Great guy that Mike Urben!
  • I've auditioned over 400 times.... One gig.

Admittedly the last 6 months I haven't really auditioned. And...it seems the auditions aren't reaching my mailbox of late. I'll have to contact them.
  • Hey Neil, glad to add you!
"Please press one, for more options"

    Cheers!

  • Dont waste your money on a Neumann unless it's a proven 20 year old u87. MANY mics out there as good or better for the price... or less.

I'm on voices.com as well. One paid gig for Harley-Davidson in two years of auditioning.
  • Lastly Neil.. how do u like the Bluebird? I've always wondered about that mic at it's price point. My buddy has a Blueberry.... but he has an airy voice, so it works for him.

I'm thinking of getting an Audio-Technica 4047. Ideally... I'd like to get a Soundelux (now Bock Audio) U195. Need a few more monthly clients first :0)
