  • Hi Michael!

I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.

I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!

Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!

    Best to ya!

  • Great idea Al. My typical VO plugin setup is:

    - Channelstrip for compression and EQ
    - Digidesign DeEsser if I need to tame sibilance, inserted after the compressor as comression tends to accentuate sibilance. I have the Waves de-esser but find the Digi version more effective.
    - Waves L1 for overall leveling

If breathes are coming through too strong I'll sometimes put the Digi expander at the beginning of the chain. I set it to bring the level down by 5-6db between phrases and fine tune the attack/release and threshold to get it to operate as non-intrusively as possble . This can also help to tame room sound if you don't have great isolation.

    Hope this is helpful!
