I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
Ever since I started walking at a mere 6 months, I've enjoyed being a performer. Although I had a well-rounded childhood, filled with art, academics and music, (including singing at church and a violin performance at the Kennedy center at age 6) I chose gymnastics as my true passion. As an elite gymnast on track for the Olympics, I traveled coast-to-coast for national competitions. Ultimately my Olympic hopes were shattered at 12 when I tore several ligaments in my knee, ending my gymnastics career. Numb from the loss, I devoted myself to academic pursuits and graduated from the University of VA with degrees in Math and Commerce, but I felt empty. I wanted to find a new outlet for the burning passion I knew existed inside me. An avid reader, my imaginative, empathetic nature makes it a joy to explore new characters and the situations that make them unique, so I auditioned at a community theater. It turned out that my musical upbringing gave me a facility for accents and I landed my first lead in a comedy, as a fish with a Scottish brogue! It was like the world suddenly changed from grayscale to full color and my inner light was re-ignited. I found my joy. My athletic ability opened new doors and I took every performing opportunity available to me; dance of all kinds, acrobatic, aerial, stunt and harness work. I expanded into musicals and professional singing. Then, after seeing me on stage, a local director offered me the lead in a stunt-filled adventure/thriller feature film, complete with horseback riding and fight choreography. I LOVED IT! I've since branched out into Voice Acting and have done a variety of types including, TV, radio, infomercials, commercials, phone messages, audiobooks, training audio and more! It's incredibly invigorating how every performance brings new opportunities to experience life. I’m ecstatic to be doing what I love again.
