"Hi Don LaFontaine, I am new in Business as Spanish Voice Over and I have a question, if you don't mind.

What is the basic stuff to have the ISDN connection running with good quality.

Thanks for your time.

"Hello B.Z. I have a question. To use the ISDN correctly do I really need the expensive hardware like the Telos Zephyr? you know about that?
Thanks for your time.

"Hi Ben, I am Mauricio, a Spanish Voice Over, I am planing to install ISDN in my studio. The only choice to deliver good signal quality is the Zephyr box?.
Can I just use a modem between the digital line and my computer?.

Thanks for your time.…"

  • I don't have ISDN yet, but I believe you do need that one expensive piece of equipment and then you're home free; you are officially global. Rodney is the man about the business and can definitely give you more information than me
  • Mauricio -

At a minmum, you need a good ISDN Receiver/Transmitter. The Telos Zephyr is pretty much the industry standard. then, of course, you need your local phone company to install the ISDN lines in your home/studio/closet/whatever.

After that, It's a matter of a quiet room, a good microphone and some nice copy to read.

It should be noted that, if you don't have to be in immediate contact with your clients over ISDN, you can always do the session while the client listens in over the phone (There are even systems, like Genter, that allow you to patch your phone into your recording device) - in which case, you can record directly onto your computer, and then mp3 or .wav or aiff the files to your client.

Somebody with more computer savvy than I can probably set you up with that.

    Good luck.
