I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Copy Writer, Linguist, Dialect Coach
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I'm a multilingual multicultural voice artist and media/arts/marketing consultant. I grew up in a bilingual home in Mexico City and started doing voice work by sheer coincidence. My father was friends with a TV executive who "imported" American TV shows to Mexico. From time to time I was asked to dub voices from English to Spanish as a "favor" and for some "pocket change". I loved it! I've used my voice professionally in the theatre (Mexico and the U.S.), as a journalist, film critic, radio host of "Horizontes", the popular Latin American music show on KUT-FM, Austin, that's still on the air, as a touring performing artist and teacher (Texas) and singer and tri-lingual talent for both profit and non-profit ventures: local/regional/national TV/radio commercials, industrials, documentaries, health & training videos, e-learning projects, PSA's, IVR projects, museum audio-tours, GPS guided tours and much more. I have experience both receiving and giving direction. The most well-known actor I've directed was Hector Elizondo for the 2004-1006 Chevron Spanish TV/Radio campaign when I was a bilingual creative for the agency that represented this account in the Bay Area. He has a very heavy Puerto Rican/Nuyorican accent and needed coaching to have a more "neutral" sounding Spanish.
