I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
Same as I've read from others I guess. I'm a kid and I love to entertain family and friends with a small tape recorder. I'd do impressions of neighbors and teachers and the odd celebrity that my parents would watch on TV. Then find myself drawn to radio in high school and college. Go to college and get my Broadcast degree. Work for Nintendo right out of college producing In Store video promos of games. This involves hiring and directing voice talent. I think..Wow.. I think I can do this...and they all seem so happy! I immediately furthered my study of what it takes etc. with the goal of "one day I'll be doing this myself. I practiced, worked for free, asked lots of questions, developed my own "training methods" since back then there were no workshops that I was aware of, and worked up a demo. It took off from there. I absolutely love this stuff. Flash forward to today.
I no longer work alongside my buddy Mario, but I have many years in the VO business and national exposure. I've voiced for clients such as AT&T, Boeing, Intel, Comcast, Columbia Sportswear, Kroger, Jeld-Wen, Hollywood Video, General Mills and even Nintendo! It has come full circle!
I have studied under the remarkably insightful Marice Tobias and the ever energetic Bob Bergen. I have also learned much from Lani Minella in every session. I've had the pleasure on occasion of keeping company with some other voice greats who were gracious enough to talk shop with me.
I enjoy the distinctly different demands of every type of VO work from commercial radio and television, to video games, web stuff, to narrations for corporate marketing or training videos and even museum tours. Recently I have been pushing more toward character work and have met many encouraging talents on the way.
I love this stuff. It rocks.
