Thanks for the real insight.  For the Vo talent would need to do phone patches on the cheap.  You can use Skype as well.  KC"

Yes radio is very much in my past except for some imaging that I do from time to time. I find what you do very interesting. Character voices. That's got to be fun.

  • Karen,
Thanks for the blog comment. Good to hear from a Missourian working in the VO business...you give me hope that I can make a living without being in NY or LA! :-) Best of luck to you!
  • Cool! I'll have to look for him. I don't know anyone at CBS, but i'll have to say hi!
  • Hey karen! Hi from down 70!!
  • Thanks Karen for the kind words on the Tresemme video - i'll keep working on those female voices and as far as i'm concerned, 2 different voices, 2 separate fees. James
  • did you use wedge foam or pyramid? I find there is still a bit of a hollow sound with the pyramid foam. everyone says wedge is much better for what I am trying to accomplish. what say you?

no worries on the long answers I am a long answer person as well T.M.I.is my middle name.
  • Hi Karen, I need to do a little polishing on the demos. My Character demo is all stuff I wrote and voiced when I was a creative services director. I just didn't have anyone that could voice the different characters so I did it myself. The concert spots I do are for a client that promotes shows in California. So far. I have family in Kansas City though. The padded room is great to have.. its someplace to get a little crazy. So its a good thing it is padded. I built it myself. I want others to know if they can work a power tool and follow instructions they can save a couple thousand bucks by doing it themselves.
Your demos are great too. I am sure you will be busy again soon. Do you have an agent?

  • You have REALLY grown in your craft! I love that Aphrodite read -- yikes!
THANKS for inviting me, Karen, to this site! I'm absolutely enjoying it! Keep in touch!
  • The new demos are like most things in my life...ON THE BRINK..lol..still not completed.....your files are sitting on 3 hard drives though....ready for choosin' and editin'....
  • If it's not you (and I assume it's not or I would know about it...lol) tagging on the Progressive TV spots...it should/could be!!!~
  • Karen, In answer to your question if I was ever on the air in KC..unfortunately no..aside from announcing occasionally at KCIR, that was about it. I grew up in KC..it is a beautiful place, and the last name used to be Meinhardt..still have family there and visit as often as I can. If you ever find yourself heading for Dallas look me up.
Getting a late start with voice acting, and like many others it has been a long time coming dream. Still need to brush up the demo, and building a home studio. This is the first unveiling of my demo to the public..a bit unnerving. I'm in hot pursuit of my new career now, so maybe you will hear me out there soon.

    go Chiefs
