I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I started my career in radio as a disc jockey and morning show host. I eventually transitioned into television as a reporter/anchor, working in Miami, New York, Los Angeles and Connecticut. I am an Emmy award-winning TV broadcaster & host. I continue to record material which airs throughout the US and abroad.
2008 has been an amazingly busy year. Just wrapped up shooting a pilot for Lifetime directed by three-time Emmy award-winning director Christopher Misiano. Soon to be seen in the hit TV series "Stringers," which airs on TruTV formerly Court TV.
My Biography:
Judy Echavez is an Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist known for filing both domestic and international reports. In February 2007, she reported on Anna Nicole Smith's death for CNN, CNN International and Court TV. She currently free-lances for CNN’s LA Bureau.
Dodging Hurricanes in the Bahamas, searching for a serial rapist’s relatives in Honduras and investigating prison conditions involving enemy combatants in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba are just a few of the topics she's reported on.
In December 2006, The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognized Judy and awarded her an Emmy for a program called Miami 9-1-1 Police & Fire Rescue. She is the host of the hour-long public affairs show, which airs five days a week on the City of Miami's channel. She is also the host of a Life-saving/CPR episode of the Miami 9-1-1 program. For that program, she was nominated for her third Emmy in October 2007.
Judy has more than a decade of reporting experience under her belt. At the ABC affiliate in Miami, WPLG-10, Judy chased hurricanes along the West Coast, filing reports for the Weather Channel and the Network. She has also reported on immigration issues from a US Coast Guard cutter off the coast of Puerto Rico and investigated the mysterious disappearance of missing boys in the Bahamas.
Judy worked as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor at WWOR-UPN 9 in Secaucus, NJ covering the tri-state area. While in NY, she reported on major stories: the 2000 Presidential Election and Elian Gonzalez’s return to Cuba as well as the tragic events unfolding during September 11th 2001.
While in the Big Apple, Judy often covered the red carpet scene, star-studded events such as the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, MTV and VH1 awards. She's interviewed celebrities like Donald Trump, Latin singer Marc Anthony and hip hop mogul P. Diddy. She has even conducted one-on-one interviews with Queen Latifah, Rosie O'Donnell, Howard Stern, Barbara Walters and actor Tommy Lee Jones to name a few.
