    Thanks for contributing to the discussion. The "Great" George Whittman clued me into the use of Normalize to -3 dB for the reason you suggest - consistent gain levels on demos. I can use the compressor on my DBX 286A Pre/Proc for a "produced" track or just deliver a dry take for post processing/mix. Again thanks for sharing your experience with VU!
