I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I started in radio and moved into voice overs while gradually phasing out my on air gig. My first big break was after moving to Los Angeles in the early 80's and voicing the trailers for early teen movies such as Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Porkys and others. The huge break happened 20 years ago this August when a little upstart network called, Fox hired me as their promo voice. Since then, I've primarily worked in promo for Fox, CBS, NBC and ABC. I voice syndication packages for network shows going into reruns and first run syndication as well. I'm proud to be a part of some pretty cool Live TV events like the Emmys and Grammys and I work as an in-show announcer for programs like Deal or No Deal, Extreme Makeover Home Edition and so on. I also am the image voice for local radio and TV stations around the country. All of that takes up about an hour a day. So, pretty much I'm bored the rest of the day and that's why Rick said why don't you start "Ask Joe."

Hey Joe! Thanks for the "plug" ! :):) LOL I feel like a superstar! (that happens to have a thing for men with great hair) :) So... now my next venture is to become one of those Deal or No Deal Vixens... :):)
Thanks Heather...I like YOUR hair too~!! If you were to become one of the DOND ladies...you would be Case Number 1 !!
I'm a big fan of yours - just wanted to drop in and say hello!
I joined VO-U today and have been so impressed by the site, as well as the fantastic people, including you, that frequent it. I'm lookin' forward to getting acquainted with some great new people, and their voices, in the coming months. Please feel free to stay in touch.
Thanks!
A new VO friend
Jeff
(PS...I really liked your interview about using source-connect in conjunction with ISDN...I found it to be very informative!)
Joe, I really want to come to VOICE 2008 but, I might have to be here on the east coast working on the Sebastian Breaks For Freedom cartoon. If I was to go I would need a place to stay. Do you have any suggestions.
Funny, you mention that...I was just working on an idea for one of the Voice Over Theaters where there was a "Voice Over Hotel" just for voice over people and how crazy that would be :-) I suggest you check out the site of the convention...James and Penny have secured reduced rates at the hotel for attendees. Hope that helps.
Joe
