If you've been asked in good faith to do work and you performed that work and you've agreed a price, etc, etc and you deliver the work as agreed, then you are entitled to your compensation. Every client I ever worked with has promised me…"

"Hey Bob,

I'd say that you're already marketing yourself even if you don't know you're doing it. The fact that "video jobs fall out of thin air" and that "clients I already work for talk to friends and they contact me with work" means that your…"

"Hey Lowell,

I think it's fabulous to have those adjectives associated with your voice. Quality always sells. A luxurious and distinct voice will make any product sound great. This is not a time to re-invent yourself unless you feel some real inside…"

"Niche Marketing -

who are you?
why are you any different to the person next to you?
what makes you stand out?

Answering these questions sets you up with future goals to attain - a plan of action for the year, if you like.

  • James,
As a Brooklyn boy traveling to the HS of Performing Arts on the train for 4 years, I perceived NY as a beautiful hooker with bad breath.
Going back and forth in the past few years has convinced me I was spot on. I will be going back in October to see some theatre however. A friend has been cast in "TO BE OR NOT TO BE" and that is reason enough to brave the subways. Also want to see Boeing Boeing. Love Mark Rylance. The actor I wanted to be.

  • James,
Thanks for the welcome. Your title under the flag says Male NY. Interesting, I always thought of NY as a Female. Thanks for setting me straight. With all those dialects, you would be cherse for Interactive work. Do you do much of that in NY?
I head up the SAG Interactive Committee and hope to get a few more bucks for us when this contract expires. Not holding my breath. At 70, may not be wise.

  • hahah...and you have a sense of humor too!!
I remember narrating a series of 26 shows called "Fooled by Nature" with the BBC for Animal Planet and I swear..i laughed the entire session..I love the british sense of humor. In Brasil we have a similar sense of humor..well, we're all crazy anyway..the last hippies on the planet!
Yes..absolutely..be in touch anytime and I'll do the same.
