I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Copy Writer, Creative Director
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
With a voice as diverse as the global marketplace, Jai began her career by not being able to shut-up as a child. As interesting as she was disruptive, her teachers decided to give her more to do - starting with the school's first radio programming... the morning announcements. Unknowingly, she developed an entertaining format (out of boredom and bossy-ness) and used friends as correspondents for short reports about happenings at the school. This garnered the attention of the city's favorite Griot, who hosted a Saturday morning radio program for children and invited Jai to become a regular on the show. A love affair with radio was born (and so was an effective interviewing style, known as asking too many damned questions).
Already a veteran of the stage (theater and classical voice) by the 2nd grade, she was determined to continue using her voice, with or without permission (of course, she couldn't keep still either, so dance was added to the repertoire in an attempt to exhaust and manage energy). Her studies and sound continued to grow and develop for more than 20 years behind the scenes.
After a lifetime of "real jobs", she has now found a platform and place in the world where fresh ideas and a fresh voice is welcomed. In addition to her work as a professional voice talent, she is the Director of Lenoir Group, committed to advocacy, activism, and advisement in publishing, the arts and literature, new media, and the beauty industry. Her voice is profound in a new generation of visionaries.
Jai still struggles to keep still... And quiet.

I’d like to invite you to join a group I’ve started called “Voices of Colors.” There members offer information and advise each other on navigating this business as people of color. Just go to "forum" (up top), then to "groups," then join "Voices of Colors." Looking forward to hearing of your experiences.
Mike
I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.
I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!
Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!
