I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
Jason Douglas started acting at the age of eight with a Radio Shack tape recorder, a wild imagination, and too much unsupervised playtime. 'My friends and I used to improvise action and sci-fi adventures on tape with KISS records playing in the background as our soundtrack,' he admits. Originally from rural Arkansas, Jason eventually settled in Houston, Texas, and attended the University of Houston School of Theatre, where he studied with distinguished faculty members Jose Quintero and Edward Albee. Throughout the 1990s, Jason was actively involved in the vibrant Houston theatre scene, and in 1997, attracted the attention of what would become the largest distributor of Japanese Anime in North America, ADV Films. Jason's now prolific career (100+ titles) as an anime voice-actor became the springboard for work in the commercial, industrial, and video game fields. Clients have included Subway, Shell, Continental Airlines, K&G Men's Stores, BMC Software, Houston Chronicle, ESPN, Halliburton, RUUD, Funimation, Ion Storm, Landry's Restaurants, Time-Warner Cable, and more. In addition to his work as a Voice Actor, Jason is also a working professional actor on-screen, from industrial spokesperson to supporting and guest roles in major television and feature films. Some highlights: FILM *No Country for Old Men *Premonition *A Scanner Darkly *Sin City *Secondhand Lions TELEVISION *Prison Break (FOX) *Friday Bight Lights (NBC) *The Lost Room (SCI-FI) *Into The West (TNT) In December of 2008, Jason will guest-star in the third installment of the popular TNT film series "The Librarian," starring Noah Wyle.
Confident and articulate natural baritone, with strong character and comedic variations; goofy nerd, fishing buddy, loveable-but-clueless husband, tragically hipster, dynamic "movie trailer guy." Especially at ease with complex technical jargon, particularly in the medical, petrochemical, and financial industries. (Clients have remarked that I make their tough-to-read spec-heavy copy "easy to understand"). Also well-suited for educational projects, presentations for children, animation, and English dubbing (ADR) of previously recorded foreign titles (live action or "Anime").
