Diane Dimond commented on Voiceover Universe's video
"I wanna buy a Buick now!
What a great - understated - performance.  A good lesson for all of us who struggle not to sound like we're "selling it.""

What should a great PROMO demo highlight? How long should it be? Should it speak to EAST coast or WEST coast sensibilities or is there a difference? And how much should you rightfully expect to pay to…"

  • Good Day,

How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you,but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on ( mr.jamespollard01@gmail.com ) for the full details.Have a nice day
    Thanks God bless.
  • Hi Diane!

I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.

I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!

Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!

    Best to ya!

  • Saw you on FOX and you looked great as usual. Your brightness is a real turn-on!
    Best,

  • Hi Diane!

Just wanted to say that I caught you on the news the other night discussing the Scott Peterson case. You rock AND are "da bomb"!
  • Hi Diane,
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, but let me see if I can give you some answers to your really great questions.
First of all, your promo demo should reflect your true signatures and range. You don't need to be all things to all people, you just need to be
really good at what you do. By that I mean that you want to really focus on the areas that you would be most marketable. You want to show different paces, intensities, and emotions.
My cost for a promo demo is $1,500, which includes the writing, elements, music, a practice session, directing, record, mix, through final product. I feel that is a fair price for a demo. We write the material specifically for the individual so it shows off their personality and range.
A demo should be between 1 to 1:30 minutes and the right spots should bridge East/West coast.

I hope this gives you good information to move forward. I'd love to talk with you more, so you can email me at: promoteach@aol.com, or you can call me at 805-526-7275.

Looking forward to talking with you soon,

    Joyce
  • Thanks, Diane! As a benefit for breast cancer research, we collected over $25K for the play's short run. I finally did get to your website and enjoyed your thoughts.

  • Hey Diane,

Glad I could make you laugh.

As usual you were your wonderfully polished self! Is it really "every" time you're on there's a breaking story? That's wild.

Such a sad story. I get all choked up with stuff like that. Simply heartbreaking.

I admire (greatly) how you keep your composure through all the activity (as mentioned by Brian below)-- a true pro!!!!

Hope you're enjoying the rest of your weekend,
    Dina
  • You are very welcome. My wife and I have been following the Anthony case so, this was right up our alley.

The way the show is structured, I can't imagine all the prep and commotion that probably goes on during the show...with the way the breaks happen and the multiple guests, WHEW!! A superb job by you, without question!

  • Dr. Phil!!!??? OMG...Awesome!!! I have to hear!!

I'll be here till 4:30pm.. (We have to let Bob know if you go out there! :)
