To put a technical term to my voice, I am a "21st century Extended Verdi Baritone". Additionally I do various character vocalizations and, even some animal sounds that have scared the wits out of some people (no names) ... without the use of electronic wizardry nor amplification!

You mentioned Columbia School of Broadcasting. My broadcasting professional life started with the Career Academy of Famous Broadcasters. As corny as the school's name sounds, it provided a comprehensive course in all phases of the industry. They supplied the student with a library of lessons on vinyl, tape recorder, course manual and postage paid mailing boxes for your practice tapes. A broadcast professional evaluated your lesson and sent back a tape with his comments. My first audition tape got me a job. Not bad for $600.
