"HA!  No secrets!  Yes, depending on the client's wishes, I'll use a Neumann U87 or TLM-103 (more clients preferring that one), or the Senn 416.  And I'll run it through a Focusrite Red 7. I also use an old Yamaha M Series board because I like the…"

But here's another link for the butt-kicking: …"

Yes, things have changed drastically at SAVOA.  It never had much of an impact on clients anyway. It looked good on paper, but it was mostly hype.
I'm hoping we'll see a fresh, new, dynamic association for…"

  • Hi Dan...

Thanks so much for the kind welcome. In the short time I've been poking around here, I've chatted with some very nice folks. I'm glad I've found a place where like-minded individuals can get together in a friendly atmosphere and "bat around" a few ideas that will help us all.

I've never thought of myself as a "competitor" with anybody...and in fact extremely enjoy helping others in this industry - free gratis. I even refer jobs I know I can't do - or don't have time to do...to others. This is a tough business. I know how hard it is, coming from radio. Perhaps that's why this website is so great.

At any rate...I appreciate the kind words, and I'm looking forward to chatting with you again, and will definitely check out the discussion board you mentioned.

All the best to you for a prosperous new year! Cheers buddy!

  • Thanks Dan.
  • Thanks for the warm welcome and the great resources.

    Best regards,

  • Dan, Thanks for the warm welcome. By all means, I'm honored to be a part. I would love to offer what I can to the marketing group.
  • Thanks for the add. Marketing is one of my passions...maybe more than voice-over...well, maybe not. Anyway, I'm looking forward to participating in the group, hope to learn and share a lot. By the way, are you native fluent in both your languages? I'm fluent in German and Hungarian, but not native, and I'm still trying to figure out if there is a market out there for slightly accented voice over in those languages.
  • Well, 'truth be told', I think what Dan is remembering is that when I first got into the Air Force, I was a marksmanship instructor for three-and-a-half years training Security Police and Law Enforcement technical school students with the M-16 and the Smith & Wesson Model 15 Combat Masterpiece revolver. I also trained Officer Training School (OTS) students, Saudi officers, and up until the Iranian Crisis, Iranian Officers. This was back when the U.S. had good relations with the Shaw of Iran. Anyway, I have an Expert Ribbon with the two afore mentioned weapons, as well as the 9mm Beretta.
  • Thanks, Daniel. We can not waste a day being unproductive.
  • St. Louis? St. Louis...St. Louis...uhhhh...OH YEAH, I think I have seen a sign for that...somewhere.

    :)
  • Hi Dan,

Thank you for the very nice compliment and connection. It's nice to have another V.O. friend in the mid-west. Your work is great!
I am sure I have heard your work in the St. Louis area.... yes?
  • Hi Dan!
    Muchas gracias. Muchos exitos

    Felipe
