I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Copy Writer
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
Well, I've been using my voice professionally for around 25 years. I started in radio in 1983. Got older and developed my voice on the air. After about 10 years I realized that I wasn't really going to be able to make a living in radio and moved to the business side, sales and marketing. As I developed my knowledge and skills there, I started doing consultant work and "advertising coaching" as I liked to call it. I kept having clients asking me to voice their spots...and then the production guys kept asking me to help out with production...and so on...till I eventually got tired of the travel that kept me away from my kids so much.
Anyway, I finally decided to make a go doing VO full time on my own more years ago than I care to admit. I work out of my home studio (which my wife feels is usually a mess) writing copy, teaching people how to write copy, voicing copy and genuinely loving what I do. National ads...local ads...they're all the same in this studio. I've also started doing on camera work. too.
RECENTLY BOOKED PROJECTS
National tele campaign aimed at auto dealers and repair centers, Plenty of local stuff including some pro bono work for an area charity, TV commercials for a couple of major West KY retailers. I was also just contacted by the local NBC affiliate for a series of VO spots for a new client that has several new car dealerships in west KY.
