I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Copy Writer, Studio Engineer, Linguist
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I kind of fell into voice acting. I live overseas (in France) where I write for a publisher of English-language magazines. There was one other American working in the office who had done all the recordings of our audio CDs. She was getting ready to move and couldn't make an audition, so she gave the studio my number. They asked for a short demo and hired me to read the voiceover for their quarterly pharmaceutical report. I loved doing it, and really am trying to learn all I can online in order to pursue this, since there are no means of training in France.
RECENTLY BOOKED PROJECTS
Have kept the gig with the pharmaceutical company, am doing all the American English voices on all our products and recently arranged, sang, recorded and did all post-production on a Children's song CD, Count and Sing in English.
English and French (fluent, but non-native)
not sure, but definitely not husky. My background is in teaching elementary school music with some musical theatre experience, I can definitely be either warm or authoritative, depending on the text.
DIALECTS, Character voices and vocal impressions
Neutral, midwest, southern, New York, French-accented English
VOICES I AM ABLE TO PERFORM
Middle Age Female, Young Adult Female, Teenage Girl
AUDIO DELIVERY METHOD
it's funny, but I produced the whole CD with a combo of a Shure solo mike, yahama digital table/preamp (all instruments were plugged in directly) and my laptop. All sound editing was done using Audacity.
