  • Hey Brian -

I love your site! I am based in Beijing and it is pretty cool to see someone going full tilt in Asia - gives me some inspiration.

  • I mention WV because they need various types of voices and languages (including American, which is why they reached out to me) and they seem like good people and they pay in a timely fashion. If you're trying to expand into other countries, well -- that's another reason right there.

As for you being an asset to China while in Asia - you're likely more familiar with the culture (I don't know if you're a native) and while everything is online, I think (even in the US) that more local (espec given the time zone change) can be more efficient/feasible/workable. Just a hunch. Use whatever contacts you may have there as well!
  • Hi Brian--

It sounds like you're doing everything you need to do; the only think I can suggest is to approach companies in the US that have offices overseas and let them know you're out there - ditto with ad agencies and post-production houses. I think China will be a great place to be in the coming years since the economy is booming. If I think of/hear of any particulars about other ways to approach overseas clients, I'll pass them along; I'm of the same mindset. I have one tiny client in Israel, and another small one in the Netherlands but it's mostly little stuff, and IVR. You might check out WIDEVOX and see if they need a new male voice,,,?
  • Thanks for reaching out. You've got a great client portfolio and impressive versatility. Keep in touch and I'll do the same. How long have you been in Taiwan? I have cousins who lived there many years ago - they recently turned me on the Sechuan peppercorns which they said gives a flavor to certain foods that they have only experienced in Taiwan.

Do you find the "business/industry" to operate differently in Asia vis a vis casting, production, etc
  • Hello Brian! Thank you for the Add. Looks like you have a good business going for you in Taiwan, Congratulations.

    It;s a small world now!

    All the best.
