"My 2 cents all,

* The rating system IS factored into the Smartcast system software.
* The Smartcast system sends out auditions; if not very many people respond, it sends out more, rinse and repeats as necessary. This is why you get jobs…"

  • HI Bill, Accents you do are a real bonus! Great start for what I need.
Welcome to VU. You're in good company here!

I wish you the best of success in all your adventures! I'd love you to join my group Ask a Casting Director. There's a lot of useful info that might help you there.

I'm a Casting Director and experienced actor (4 octave range) for Video Games and more. It's a unique genre, unlike any other that requires a lot of differentiation in voices because there are so many parts with so few lines each. It requires a huge vocal repertoire. If you feel you're experienced as a voice actor with a lot of diverse and useable characters, and you can hit the ground running, you can go to my Talent Assessment page. Classes and coaching links are also there, if you'd like more instant help to get where you need to be to land those jobs.

    Stay Super!

  • Hi Bill, I'll be posting a full article on the subject which include my thoughts on how to morph to survive for voice subscription sites in the next 48 hiours. I think this will address all your great questions. Thanks for the thought provocation.

  • Hi Bill!

Welcome to Voiceover Universe! You'll meet some old friends and make some new ones around here!

I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!

Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!

  • Well, no big plan here. I picked the up the phone and called local agents in alphabetical to see if there was a local voice/demo workshop. The first one I called sent me to Susan Andre. Susan was fantastic! Susan works with the agency I initially called so I went with her recommendation. I also signed up with voice123. My game plan now is to stick to a daily schedule of: 1. making new contacts to market my skills 2. follow up with potential clients where I've made contact. 3. practice 4. audition 5. stay in the loop with sites like this 6. KEEP LEARNING! As I mentioned before, I'm back in the game after a long absence. So I've put the track shoes on to get going. I also plan to go to VOICE2010. How about you?
  • Thanks, Bill - I'll give Rich a little "push."

  • Yes, we do have some pretty fun groups of students! It is such a joy to see them grow and have fun in the workshops. So....when are you going to take your place among them? Would love to meet you. Your great smile definitely shows a VERY NICE MAN.

In any event, I certainly want to see you at VOICE - you will love it!
