Bettye Zoller left a comment on Audiobooks & Narration: Paying Jobs!
"Sometimes it's ok to hire someone to edit your book reads. It speeds things up as you can be narrating more books and paying someone to clean up files same time. Track expenditures and measure if this is paying off. For me, it often does."

  • Bettye,
Thank you for the hello, looking forward to getting to know you and others better and becoming an asset to this industry. If you get a chance, would you be kind enough to critique me at jwvoicetalent.com. I need all the help I can get right now. Thanks and I will return a favor someday. God Bless, Jeff
  • I am surprised. I thought we were already friends on Voice Over Universe for I fell as if I have known you forever.

I am SO looking forward to the two-day Audio Book intensive workshop tomorrow and Sunday. I am THRILLED with my Audio Book demo and am confident that with this valuable tool added to my arsenol (in addition to my equally impressive Narration and Commercial Demos you produced for me previously) that I am now in even a better position to be able to maket every facet of my voice to any market that my talents are suited for.

Your teaching, coaching, mentoring, and advice for the better part of the year have meant a lot to me and better prepared me and re-educated me for re-entering this business we call Voice Over.

I wish you continued success with VoicesVoices.com and hope to catch as many of your informative seminars and workshops as time permits in the future. I am forever in your debt for your counsel, advise, your treasured friendship and for keeping me in touch with Reality and how this business REALLY WORKS.
  • Hi Bettye, thanks for the welcome! Didn't know that about your music background. Where did you do your music studies, and with whom? I'm sure we know some people in common, since, well, music is a small circle like vo! I'll look forward to more correspondence with you! Warmest wishes to you...
  • Hi Bettye, Thanks for the warm welcome. After 20 years of doing just about everything in the biz, voice over is my favorite. I'm looking forward to learning from people like you. Our winters are frightful here, and I was born and raised in them. Come back in summer, we'll show you a better time!!
  • Well, hello to you, too, Mother Nature! What a nifty coincidence this is, I was reminded of that spot last week, but darned if I remember how. It may very well have been while going over Mark Evanier's archives. Thank you very much for the welcome, I will certainly check out those two groups, as well as your podcast.

More about me? Well, I always thought I wanted to be an illustrator or animator. I draw, I paint, and I've always loved children's books and cartoons. But I could also sing, and I loved being in school plays. The teamwork and character creation of that media is even more alive that what I could do with my drawings. When a drawing or a book suddenly has a voice, it ceases to be two dimensional. I realized two years ago that it was time to stop talking about wanting to do voiceover, and seriously pursue making it happen. I've been picking up bits and pieces of training ever since.

Thanks again for reaching out to this VU newbie! May I add you to my friends list?
  • Thanks for the Hello, Bettye -- The UNIVERSE is most impressive. Glad I stumbled on it. I knew professional photographers did a lot of sharing of info and ideas. I'm beginning to think VO folks have set the bar even higher. Speaking As an old aged newbee - I'm encouraged that this might be a resource that gets me up on the "ol learning" curve quiickly.
  • Hello Bettye,
Thanks so much for your welcoming message! I have heard that the VO community is composed of really generous-with-advice and supportive-to-newcomers -- as I am -- people. And your message just proves that was no lie! I've enjoyed reading your comments on a few other forums, benefited from your podcasts and l look forward to networking with you here.
    Enjoy your day,
    Anne
  • thanks for the info Bettye! I am planning on attending the workshop in Houston this Feb, so I will see you then for sure!

    Connor :)
  • Bettye,

Thanks for hooking up with me here. I've lived here all my life an was on the air for 10 years here in KC. KFKF for seven and then WDAF for the last three with David Lawrence, just before he retired. My only agent is in Atlanta. Real People Talent. I have done some auditions on Vo Planet and almost snagged a big one with SONY HD Zune. However almost doesn't count. Still waiting for the BIG BREAK. But I've only been doing this for 2 1/2 years full time. I've sent demos to all the KC agencies but no bites. I do some VO in KC for Cable, KMBC and KCTV but most of my stuff is heard in other markets. Great to meet you. If you ever come back to KC Let's get all the KC vo talent together and meet up.

    Thanks
    KC
  • Bettye,
