Thanks for inviting me to you Voice Actor's workout group in North Hollywood. You have a really great studio space! And the environment you have created is a great boon for voice over performers to get on their feet in front of a mic in…"

Scanning the posts, I see some questions about ProTools not working. I field phone calls every week from VO talent who find that ProTools will not launch.

Here is the deal: Apple software update must be disabled.

Will a few films that don't open ruin the career of a VO talent? No, I don't think I have seen that. But every few years, one of the guys who are the narrators the trailer houses always seem to go to.....drops off the list......for no reason…"

  • VOICE 2008 Conferees:

It was so great to meet so many of you! As I said, I don't get out much. It is rare that I am faced with people who actually want to hear my plentiful opinions about these things!

Here are the technical tools I mentioned. Mac OS X audio editor. Twisted Wave. http://www.twistedwave.com It's everything you need; nothing you don't. And, the IP software for Windows that I have been using for years is: AudioTX Communicator. It serves as an over IP transmission system, but I find it to be superior to Source-Connect. And, when used with an ISDN adapter, and an installed ISDN LINE, it will also REPLACE an ISDN codec, such as a Telos Zephyr or CDQ Prima. Or, you can use a bridge connection until the volume of your ISDN bookings justifies the cost of ISDN installation.
Dave Immer at Digifon provides bridging service for AudioTX and Source-Connect.....and he is a dealer for AudioTX, and can sell you a complete package, and help you through setup. THANK YOU for the opportunity to be of service! - Beau
  • Your voice is even more amazing in person. Eeeeyow! So great to connect with you here in the City of Angels and yes, I do enjoy field trips. :~)

  • Hey dog,
Your career is still perkin'. I remember the young kid with the short hair on my stage reaching for characters. How is that for longevity?
    Good for you.
I turned 70 today. I woke up last night to what I thought was an earthquake and it was only my ass falling.
When my balls drop, then I will be real competition for you.

  • Hi Beau!
I joined the VO-Universe yesterday, and just a few minutes ago, I also joined the "Tech talk" group. I think it said that you were the creator of the group, so, I wanted to drop in, introduce myself and say "Howdy!" You've sure got some great pipes and an EXTREMELY versatile delivery. Please feel free to stop in and say hi once in a while - I'd love to hear from ya. -Look forward to seeing you around the universe.
    Thanks!
    The Newbie,
