Thanks for inviting me to you Voice Actor's workout group in North Hollywood. You have a really great studio space! And the environment you have created is a great boon for voice over performers to get on their feet in front of a mic in…"

Scanning the posts, I see some questions about ProTools not working. I field phone calls every week from VO talent who find that ProTools will not launch.

Here is the deal: Apple software update must be disabled.

Everytime (almost)…"

"Jay,

Will a few films that don't open ruin the career of a VO talent? No, I don't think I have seen that. But every few years, one of the guys who are the narrators the trailer houses always seem to go to.....drops off the list......for no reason…"

Several have asked about the price of Twisted Wave....it was indeed 49 dollars when I made that post. But after the developer did a bunch of mods on it, at my request, I suggested he raise the price. Don't hate me! I was finding that no one…"

  • Beau, thank you for all you've been able to share. Big fan here!!

  • Great voice...I am not surprised at your success. I too was a pioneer in the computer age,as one of the 1st to stream live video over the internet with sailing tv. Keep up the good work:)

  • Hi, Beau.  Guess you are the guy to answer this, please!  I am discovering some producers request jobs be file-transferred to them as wav.   In general, do pro studios have any strong preference between 41 kHz (CD standard) or 48 kHz?  I use a Mac and the glorious Twisted Wave, so there's a ready choice of wav, aiff and other settings.  Howard (Devon UK)
  • Thanks for the add Beau, I can always use some advice from someone that has been in the biz many years. I work hard on my voice overs and haven't got any work from it, but I do production for the radio station I work for. What you think I need to do to get voice work?
  • Thanks for accept my friend request..one Spanish vo trying to do same stuff as u only in espanoll
  • Hey Beau,
I'm a V.O. noob just beginning my foray into this new realm and I want to thank you up front for your videos and other pieces here and there, particularly your technical advice, equipment recommendations and the like. It's dynamite stuff for a novice like me (well, General, actually - K6CPW).

Question: You talked about your days in Colorado, driving down the hill into Denver, etc. I grew up in Boulder ('65-'75). I'm curious - where did you live at the time?

  • Just by chance, I was surfing Youtube and came across the video tour you made about your studio, career and a sliver of your life. Wonderful! Genuine and touching at the end when you gave a sincere thanks to some key people in your life. Thanks for sharing it with all of us...and a VERY belated happy birthday.

  • Hi Beau, just wanted to apologise for spamming the group about my booth build project. I had intended to start a discussion but hit "send message" by mistake... oops.
Off to a great start, thanks for adding me,

  • Happy Birthday, Beau!
