I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Studio Engineer, Creative Director
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I am generally pretty quiet and observant, I like to take it all in. This enables me to property develop the character for acting out the script at hand whether it's 5 seconds to 30 seconds, 60 seconds and on up.
I prefer and perform better in shorter pieces, quirky pieces, and very straightforward pieces like medical narration, educational pieces. I'm not a movie trailer guy, that's just reality. Long sessions are fine when recording shorter pieces and chaining together. However, I'll be perfectly honest that an audio book is not my style.
I'm quite easy to work with and flexible within reason, very straightforward and down to earth - been around awhile in other words. If you've got a project I'm sure we can knock it out just fine.
RECENTLY BOOKED PROJECTS
Voicing .....mostly intellectual property or are non disclosure projects. My strength is in the assurance of privacy - that's been my experience.
Directing....really love this, too.
Teaching recording with Audacity basics to newbies and those who struggle with recording and editing.
That keeps me pretty busy. How do I love thee voice acting? Let me count the ways......

I just got back from a little R&R in Central Oregon (Sunriver), SWEET!.
I completed my first paid VO gig last month: writing copy and performing as the Motivational Voice on a new Cardio Workout machine for a company based in London! I'm an INTERNATIONAL voiceover artist now!
Thanks so much for the excellent posting about P2P sites and your recommendations. You really hit the nail on the head! I hope to continue these discussions, as they are important. Just like the Union/FiCore/Non-Union discussions, we are really just scratching the surface on what is the right path for each individual VO talent.
Let me know what's shaking in your neck of the woods.
Thanks!

I loved your comments regarding Voices.com / Voice123.com. (now closed to replies)
So many VO resources still recommend those sites as a viable portion of your revenue streams, as you put it so nicely. It seems that it would be hard to unravel their presence among the more valuable 1 on 1 transactions that most of our personal Web sites encourage.
How do you see these online marketplaces fading away or changing in the future?
Cool concept that I'd love to see sooner than later!
Thanks for your thoughts.

Take care,

It sounds like such a great resource. A woman that I worked with recommended this group to me.
I have a small animated project that I'm looking to cast, where would be the best place to post for it?
