I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Copy Writer, Studio Engineer, Creative Director, Speech-Language Interpreter
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I was auditioned and recruited by Trish Basanyi in August, 2008, for a SuchAVoice Master Class on January 15th, 2009 at SuchAVoice's studio in Burlington, Vermont.
Having completed the class, I have my professionally produced demo....and I've hit the road running.
After all, my job is to sell your product.
RECENTLY BOOKED PROJECTS
A couple of what amount to be public service announcements. But don't let that fool you...I get about 30 audition offers a day.
Right now, I'm headed over to Tokyo in August, to do promos for a software company that specializes in golf course reservation and management software. In English, mind you, since my Japanese vocal skills are fairly sloppy. It should be interesting, though. A 6'5" white Texan in the land of the rising sun.
Lately, a narrative, a few toadstools to sit on above the fermented earth. A place in the sun.
LANGUAGES
English and Spanish.
VOICE DESCRIPTION
I can be funny in one move, serious in another, but probably best at being authoritative on narrations, yet can run the whole course of vocal ranges for commercials.
With over 30 years of experience in both music production and software development, I can successfully produce what you find in your area of need.
What do you need?
DIALECTS, Character voices and vocal impressions
As far as accents, I don't have one in person, but I can perform southern dialects with exquisite detail, having been born and raised in TEX-AS.
As a consummate vocalist in music, there's this strange ability to pick up on sounds and voices, and mimic them.
Impersonations? Clint Eastwood, but if I listen a few times to anyone, it's usually easy to pick up on their speech patterns, sometimes to hilarious effect.
VOICES I AM ABLE TO PERFORM
Senior Male, Middle Age Male, Young Adult Male
Union Affiliation
Non-affiliated
AUDIO DELIVERY METHOD
ISDN, FTP, MP3, WAV
EQUIPMENT
I have every M-Box tool available..but there's more to it than that.
This shouldn't be a nightmare: it's just a matter of what you want.
Everything imagineable to making a high-quality studio production.
Please tell me the format, style, and intent, and I will deliver it.
If you want a precise, definite microphone, I use an audio technica.
So sue me. It works great for me, and didn't cost me a funeral.
As far as software? I use a variety of CakeWalk tools.
And, of course, I use Pro Tools.
I probably have more computer equipment than the government. And, actually, it's more current.

Sorry to hear you're getting the meteorological equivalent of 'feast or famine' in your part of the country. I have a friend in Atlanta who is about a block from a river that's at flood stage (16 ft!). It's too crazy. Here in the Northwest, it's gonna be 90 degrees again today... at the end of September! I'll be curious to see what the winter brings.
Things were a little slow the first half of the month, but they're starting to pick up. More and more though, the thought of living off the grid sounds damn appealing. :-)
Take care,
Linda
I guess the earthquake set the gig back. Good luck with it. Have you done anything else yet? I'm taking this very slow and methodical. I did get a small gig on being the voice of a mafioso type character for a computer animation engineer in New York......won't put my kids thru college, but it was fun to do as well as the experience. Give me a shout.

Thanks for the kind wishes to a fellow summer birthday friend.
Life is both a crapshoot... and a wonderful gift. Sorry to hear about your stepdad, but so happy for you to be heading off on your Pacific Rim adventure!
Stay in touch!
