  • Thanks for the opportunity to audition for this...what a great honor for someone!

  • Hey all!! I still have several VOICE Promos in the works and I am in need of some testimonials from y'all. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate, just a few lines about your experiences attending VOICE events.

They can be about a particular event, presenter, mixer, opportunity that came from attendance....whatever you like! They will be so helpful to people who are still trying to decide if they are coming to VOICE 2012. Can you help me out?

You can post them here or send them to me at info@voiceacting.com. Thanks!

    Hugs,

    Penny

  • Sent my in this afternoon Penny!  Crossing my fingers! ;-)

    Thanks for the opportunity!

    Hugs,

  • Thanks, Lofty - just what I'm looking for!

  • My top 5 things from attending VOICE.

    1. Met my LA agent at the red carpet event in 2008, and signed with them on the Tuesday after VOICE.
2.Met my NYC during VOICE and subsequently signed with him
    3. Met so many legends of the industry who I have been in awe of for so long. Forgive me if I don't mention them all. Joe Cipriano, Beau Weaver, Nancy Wolfson, Joyce Castellanos, Stew Herrera and the list goes on. Last but certainly not least meeting and having the pleasure of Scott Rummell join us at our table for the black tie dinner to wrap up VOICE 2010.
    4. Meeting and learning from so many amazing people who work in this industry, many of whom I now call friends.
    5.Having a simply sensational time!!!!
Ps. These appear in no particular order
  • Hey everyone! As you are probably aware (how could you have missed it?.....) the Early-Bird Deadline for VOICE 2012 is just two days away. Man! Time is FLYING!!

Would you do us a favor and post something short on your home page that mentions that the deadline is the 15th? I'm always concerned that someone will "just miss" the deadline and be really disappointed. Everyone loves to save money. So, if the information is EVERYWHERE there's less of a chance of that happening.

Doesn't have to be huge - just give us a mention. Registrations are flying in! We're going to have an amazing event!!!

    Loves and Hugs,

    Penny

  • Coming to VOICE 2010 was the best gut decision I've made. I couldn't afford to go (flying from Istanbul, Turkey isn't cheap!), but I couldn't afford to miss it either!

The value of making face to face contacts with people who were previously just pixel friends cannot be understated, and as you can hear from many of the podcast "People Behind the Voice" interviews on my blog, there's plenty of opportunity to meet and learn from fascinating people, in addition to the programmed sessions.

Best advice: savour every minute. Listen to your heart and look for opportunities to develop yourself. If you do this then VOICE 2012 will be a profound investment in your future...

    Here's my repost from Facebook:

My new demo is just the lastest of a slew of examples. Produced by Mehmet Onur, who I met as a result of VOICE 2010, and I now count as my best friend. We have spent the past two years working together on many different projects, with many exciting, creative plans for the future... watch this space...
oh! and join us and other friends for the International VoiceOvers panel: Wednesday 10.30am

  • In accordance with Penny's request, I posted this note earlier on Facebook and re-post it here:

I met presenters who subsequently became coaches and/or mentors; people like Joyce Castenallos, Dan Lenard, Teri Apple, MJ Lallo, George Whittam, Nancy Wolfson, Pat Fraley, and many others.  These people helped me become a better VO talent and coached me in the production of new demos.  I met literally hundreds of new people who became friends and colleagues, people in the business who I can e-mail or chat with when I have a problem or concern.  And lastly, it is the fellowship and camaraderie your experience at the convention.  I look forward to visiting again with people from all over the world, people who I never would have met if it were not for VOICE.  If you are "sitting on the fence" about coming, please believe me when I say it was a life changing experience for me and my VO career; I am certain it will be for your too!  Yes, it is expensive, but you will get more coaching and attend more classes from the best in the business than you possibly can anywhere else for the same money.  As Jennifer Dixon says, I can't wait for the influx of energy, enthusiasm and fun!  Come one, come all, the jubilee is about to begin!!
