  • Congratulations!! Jennifer. Hope you guys had a great day.....
  • Time flies indeed,Penny! Many congratulations in advance to  you two too!

Daniel ,Thanks for the good wishes. Your quote really highlights that Love really is hard work but worth it in the end..Good luck to you too.

  • Wayne,

Just one more word on this subject, then I'll hush. You may really LIKE doing all those things (radio, TV, promos, etc.), but the fact is you have to decide which one you are really GOOD at doing and go from there!

You'll make it, kiddo - don't give up!

    Hugs,

    Penny

  • Happy Anniversary Jennifer and Penny (it's coming up)
  • Penny - that's just super great advice you just gave to Wayne! I will, of course, be stealing it (I only steal from the best) - just so right on and put in such a clear way. Thank you for sharing :)
  • Happy anniversary Jennifer.  They said that Renee would kick my sorry back side to the curb before the end of the first year.  That was 38 years ago.

...Love is long suffering and kind.  Love is not jealous, it does not brag, it does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become prevoked.  It does not keep account of the injury.  It does not rejoice over unrightousness, but rejoices with truth.  It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never fails... 1 Cor. 13: 4-8

  • Thanks fro the advice , I really like commercials Radio, and TV, and not to mentions trailers and Network (the old saying booth announcer) lol. I'm starting to feel a tad bit on the burn out side. its all good,
  • Not a dumb question at all, Wayne. The first thing you MUST do is determine where you fit in the industry. Where are your strengths? To try and market to everyone will only cause you frustration and ultimately, failure.

Say your strength is narration - then you know you'll probably be marketing to corporations. What kind of corporations? Do you have expertise in medical terms that would make you a natural for medical narrations? Do you have a technical background that would give you a step-up in those kinds of narrations?

You see, YOU really have to be the one to make those kinds of determinations. When you decide where your talents lie, then start marketing like crazy to that specific area. If it's commercials, you want to talk with production companies who produce commercials for radio and television (NOT the stations themselves!). If you feel narrations are the best for you, decide on a market and start making calls.

My very best advice is, don't try to be all things to all people. Determine your strength and what will make you stand out and then pursue that road with all your might. If nothing pans out there, then just map out another road.

Just remember to never, never, never, never give up!

    Hugs,

    Penny

  • This maybe a dumb question, does anyone know where I can, or who I can market my talents to? I guess the word is prospecting. And should I get an agent? Thanks in advance
