Prayers on the way!
Hey Kids!
I just thought I'd drop by and say...
Our high school needed to raise some money to support our athletes. Budget cutbacks were brutal this year, and athletics were hardest hit. In fact, all athletes pay $100 per player per sport to the county in order to qualify to play. As a mom of a junior, I decided to take the lead to help the situation.
Last year, I developed a Holiday Bazaar to be held at the high school so the student clubs and athletes could fundraise for their coffers. I invited outside vendors as well to add some colorful variety. I advertised on social media sites, local school and community papers like crazy. Last year, by spreading the word, we had a total of 50 vendors. What an accomplishment, since the local vendors contributed a % of their profits for the day.
This Saturday, our "Highlander Holiday Bazaar" has now grown to 100 vendors. Every one of the original vendors came back, and many of them told a friend...and so on. I did very little advertising this year.
I treasure the connections with others that support and help others in small ways. Who knows where it will lead? I read one time it's called the "Butterfly Effect." I am thankful for working with volunteers that believe that helping others is a noble endeavor and shared my vision of a way to help the school.
