I am currently in San Francisco following a gruelling time at sea. We have been undergoing various sea trials involving continuous emergency and battle simulations. We are currently enjoying two days liberty before heading back to sea and picking up the pace of the trials and training exercises. I have been operating on an average of three hours of sleep a day so I must admit that I am not looking forward to the upgraded tempo we will be enjoying for the coming two weeks. I am currently sitting in a Starbacks not far from Fisherman's Wharf taking advantage of their free WiFi. Our internet access on the ship will not allow me to get on VU or my facebook.
Once we leave San Fran we have another two weeks of training exercises before finally heading out to our planned deployment.
Penny I think we will be in SD for the weekend of 16 October after we have completed our mission and I must tell you that I am suffering a serious case of "Penny Hug" withdrawl.
I did bring my portable studio with me, however I have not had any opportunity to practice at all yet, however I will be recording once our training period ends and our actual deployment begins. This current deployment had helped me realize how very much I am looking forward to my retirement from the military and moving into VO full time. Like I tell the young fellows who work for me, if this life were easy everyone would be doing it.
Well I have to go. Stay positive everyone and sleep well to both my Canadian and American brethren. We are on watch and we will NOT let you down.
Love to all my VO family

Thanks for everything!
I have now been back in my home country for over a year and AMAZING things are happening. Very positive movements/ shifts are taking place. It's a gift to be living in this age.
(Yes, there are MANY problems here as well, but that for a different discussion :))
It is part of whom I am, to try and seek out the positive outlook in things. I am happy to have joined a group that seem to share that ideal.
Have a great day all.

Big hugs,

Ironically I woke up this morning feeling that same gratitude.
I'm very thankful to be doing what I enjoy doing.
There is not a night that goes by that I don't thank God for everything
he has blessed me with. I'm totally grateful for all that I have & very
blessed to have had the upbringing and encouragement my parents gave
me. I lost my Dad on May 14th of this year from bone cancer and it's a
bit strange but I feel as though he's not gone at all but still here in his continued
spirit. Some might find it a bit strange but my mother has kept my Dad's voice
on their answering machine since then. If it not been for my Dad work as an engineer at radio station in Altus, Oklahoma back in the 70's I would have never experienced first hand my eventual future career in Radio & Television VO.
