  • Heather and Penny, you are both very welcome. I had lost my footing for a while while in an abusive relationship, but after she left a year r so ago, I remembered most of the self help techiques I've learned over the years, lol.
  • Darla,
I had a copy workout with Beverly Bremers last Wednesday and she said something I thought was profound.
“When they choose somebody from the auditions, it is selection, not rejection.”
  • My audition went well, today. Don't know if I will get the part, but that is not as important as the fact that I DID IT! Heather -- think positively and try to keep the sun within your heart.
  • Thank you both! And Ken, I think that is a great idea, very inspirational & uplifting.
  • Wonderful advice, Ken. Your method reminds me of my "happy file."

    Hugs,

    Penny
  • Each day is another opportunity to shine. I remember back in college one of my classes brought up having a "brag book". It can be something as simple as a notebook with any awards you've received, a shelf with any trophies (even something like bowling or baton) or even just a notebok with anything you've accomplished written down in it. When you are having a blah day, open that book and look at it for a few minutes to remind yourself you have accomplished things in the past and you can do it again.

Overcast days usually bring out the blah. For me, I understand because of old knee injuries that act as a barometer and tell me it's damp and remind me perhaps I shouldn't have done the things that caused those injuries. (although, I'd do it again in a heartbeat, lol) A couple of aspirin to kill the pain and remembering that rain makes things grow usually helps me get back to normal.
  • Honey,

With that kind of faith - tomorrow will most certainly be a much better day! I'm thinking of you and sending you LOTS of positive energy. Don't give up - no matter what anyone might say!

    Hugs,

    Penny
  • Today is a weak day for me...physically. It is overcast here in my small town in the midwest. Yesterday I spent all day working on auditions and editing some personal stuff. There are times I ask myself, "why in the world are you still trying to do this?" The doubts start creeping in. Between some psersonal limitations and "others" inbelief that I will get anywhere in trying, I still trudge ahead. I block out those voices and deny those limitations from changing who I am or what my goals are.Ultimately YOU are yor greatest cheerleader or it is you who will be the judge who will pass sentence on just what YOU can achieve. Today...is not so good for me, but I cannot trust tomorrow will be hear either. So, for today I WILL give my all, despite my circumstances, dispite my limitations, despite the "others" negativity toward my goals. I...you...we are going to achieve what we believe if only it is by the will of faith in which we do so! So go forth and follow that rainbow, but know that within you there already is that pot of gold!!!
  • You go girl! And GOOD FOR YOU! I love a woman (or man for that matter) who will take a chance and SPEAK UP even even if the odds seem to be against them!!

WAY TO GO, Darla!!! Let us know how it goes! I'll be waiting right here to congratulate you when you land the part!

    Hugs,

    Penny
