Everyone should stop and "smell the roses" or "give thanks for their blessings" each day. It may just be a momentary prayer, a smile & kind thought, or a friendly "pay it forward" type of deed that shows you appreciate the blessings afforded to you.
Personally, 2009 was maybe my worst year professionally. I was laid off after 15 years with a major radio chain (cutbacks/restructuring) and for the very first time in my adult life, I had to actually seek employment. I thank God for my friends and family that gave me the confidence and support to move forward.
Today, I am still looking for a full time job. And as I told my dad today, I have good days and not so good days. But even on my worst days, I am thankful for my wife who continues to be my rock, my sons who give me reason to keep pushing forward, and my parents who, although they cannot help me financially, are there for me always.
Thankfully, my voice over business is slowly growing. And for each new opportunity, I give thanks. For every job I win, I give thanks. For every tip a fellow voice artist shares with me, I give thanks.
For every day I wake up healthy, and able to do what I love most, I give thanks!
Today, as I sit in a cozy little house in Nebraska - surrounded by my son, his wife and three beautiful grandchildren - I am watching it gently snowing outside. It occurs to me again how beautiful the snow really is. I was raised in the mountain states and have certainly seen it before, but today, well. . . it's just more beautiful than ever.
I am so grateful to be warm inside watching this amazing part of nature do its thing!
Every day there is something to be grateful for - no matter how small.
What are you grateful for today?
Hugs,
Penny
I was complimented on my awesome driving skills today. Someone left me a note on my windshield that said "Parking Fine." Why, thank you very much, Kind Stranger!
to train with him! Good for you.
With gratitude,
David
You're the best. Thanks! And have fun with all the grands~
I could put a mention of your group in our voiceacting blog at www.voiceacting.com/blog. That way, if anyone on the list is in a rural area they'll know about it! It may take me a few days - I'm still in Nebraska with the grandkids.
Hugs,
Penny
