  • Penny,

I must say - your timing is sometimes impeccable... As always, thanks for your optimism, wisdom, and support!
  • I'm with you Amy! I divorced that negative and MOVED! ;o) It's more fun being around positive people. I heard a story once at a conference. Imagine a bucket of crabs and one tries to get out. But the crab can not get out because all the other crabs keep pulling him back in. If the crab were the only one in the bucket, it could get out. Ever seen a bucket of crabs? It's true. Misery loves company.
  • #4 is my favorite!!!
  • Boo!
Hi all you ghosts and ghoulies! Here’s just a little Food 4 Thought for this Halloween weekend!

NEWS FLASH! Your happiness and success can be determined by the way you think!

Here are 10 ways to help you get going!

#1 Choose to be positive. Optimism is a choice. Make a commitment every day to be positive. If you can choose the uplifting side of life – why wouldn’t you?

#2 Use empowering self-talk by using words like “How can I”, “It’s possible”, “It can be done” instead of “Why me?”, “Not again” or “This always happens to me!”

#3 Exercise daily. Choose something you like and stick to it! Your body AND mind will thank you for it!

#4 Surround yourself with positive people and get the negative ones out of your life (or at least at a distance)!

#5 Find balance in your life. Limit your news intake each day. Stay informed by focusing on positive news. Read at least one inspirational story or quote each day.

#6 Focus on your posture. When you stand, walk or sit with good posture, you’ll not only feel and look better, but you will also radiate self-confidence.

#7 Setback are NOT forever. Keep the larger picture in perspective and remember that situations change constantly.

#8 Don’t personalize problems. Events will happen that are outside your control – try not to internalize them.

#9 You can only control YOURSELF. You cannot control what other people do or say, but you can control how you react to any given situation.

#10 Think positively and expect positive outcomes! Your ultimate success and happiness in life will not be determined by the setbacks you encounter, but by the setbacks you overcome, learn from, and continue onward.

Be safe and happy this Halloween!

    Hugs,

    Penny
  • Hey Penny, Thanks for your story and your positive energy!
  • Tina - I love that saying "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, and that is why we call it the present" I used to wrap up my show everyday with that.
  • Hi Penny: Great message that you sent to all of us in this group. You are really my kind of people. I always say that if you get up in the morning and can walk, talk, see and hear that you have it made, really. In addition, we all have to trust God, fear less and hope more on the difficult days which will arrive at times. So, lets all say thanks to the blessing of just being angels to each other when and if is needed. Thanks to you again, Penny, Carol
  • Thanks Nancy. I think the thing that's neat about the VO business is the fact that there are so many different types of voice-over work that there is enough to go around for all of us.
  • Hi everyone, Penny, what a beautiful message that was that you wrote to all of us. It is so true! Nancy, it's great to see you in this group. I so enjoyed having lunch with you outside at voice-over 2008! I hope things are going really well for you. I have to tell all of you that since I have been in this profession, I've met some wonderful people. I may not be working right now as much as I would like to be, but I'm still okay. I grew up in a very loving home, and my family and I are very close even though we live in different states, and I've got my health and the best friends that anyone could ever hope to have surrounding me. If anyone had told me two years ago that I would have my own home studio, I probably would have said that they were crazy, but now that's become a reality, and it's exciting! I've been blind since birth, and people ask me all the time, How do you do it? How do you live alone? How do you manage? I believe that everything in life for all of us is a process, and it's a one moment at a time thing. I'm a very very blessed person. Gosh, I didn't think I was going to ramble this up, but Penny, your story got to me! Have a great day everybody. I'll close on this note: One of my favorite sayins is this: Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, and that is why we call it the present.
  • Halloween parties, pumpkin pie, pumpkin seeds, and colorful leaves falling off beautiful trees.... these are a few of my favorite things.
