  • VOICE 2012 was a super experience.  No matter if you have been in voiceover for two months or 20 years, it was several days packed with loads of information on performance, agents, equipment and the business of voiceover.  I cannot say enough good about it and am already looking forward to VOICE 2014.

  • Hey Tracy,

Welcome to the group and ask away; that's what we are here for :-)

  • New to Southern California. This year am filling up the pipe. I will be asking newbie questions (after searching).

    Best,

    Tracy

  • Ran across this at scaryideas.com and thought it was worth sharing,http://bit.ly/jhqRPJ
  • Congrats Darla and Larry. Hard work is what it takes in this business for most to succeed as more and more people look to go into the business. Don't let it discourage you though, perserverance pays off.

As with John Melley, I am also available to be a resource.

Here's to a great year for VO!

  • Hi, everybody.  I haven't added a comment to this thread for awhile.  Chris's comment hits home for me.  I started getting serious about VO as a new career during VOICE 2010.  Fortunately, I was able to receive instruction from several good coaches.  Been working lately with Vanessa Hart and Julie Williams.  I've made demos and will be ready to send them to possible clients.  Actually, I have a couple of audio book clents already and have just finished narration of my first two audio books.

I will be attending The Three VoiceKeteers workshop in January. Hope some other new comers can attend too.

Just goes to show that good things can happen in a short period of time.

  • I sincerely hope that everyone had a blessed holiday! I have been out of the loop for a while so here it goes...

To all new members, welcome and I am glad that you have decided to join the wonderful world of VO ;-) Don't worry so much right now about getting work, work on getting some instruction from a reputable instructor, build your demos (I reccomend not doing them yourselves, have a reputable source do it... I can reccomend some if you need when the time comes), and then market yourself.

Christine, Congratulations on your story being included on the CD! You are right when you said just because you have't done it for very long doesn't mean exciting things can't happen. Sometimes you get an open door and you decide to walk through it hehe.

Leon, welcome and if there is anything we can do for you, don't hesitate to ask :-)

    Until next time...

    Chris
