  • HOLY S..... I thought I was the only one who had what I jokingly refer to as "radio dreams", which are really the same nightmares some of you have described. I still occasionally have 'em and it's been 17 years since I've been on air.
Dang...this is a phenomenon. Post radio syndrome!!!!! hahahah
  • Hey Randy...love the big hair. And Jeff, I really like the pic, and the pizza anecdote. I think we had a similar board at KGB-FM.

  • That's funny........all the nightmares I had in radio, happened when I was still awake.....
  • I have the same nightmares as Joe C., but with one exception.
Lots of records but none in the right format!
They have eased up since I got out of the business about a year ago.
  • My nightmares stopped after I left the air-shift, but it was the same one: getting locked out of the building during Traffic's "Low Spark of High-Heeled Boy" 11 minute song. I somehow found my way up to the 16th floor only to peer through the window at the timer reaching 00:00!
    Then I woke up.
It's been 7 years since I had the dream. Probably can count on it for tonight.
Jeff, do you have any old airchecks? Those would be awesome to post. I'm going to try and find my first ones....
  • Gawd...I still have those nightmares too. For me it's always this...I'm on the air, the song is running out and no matter how hard I try, I can't find a HIT to play. There are tons of records in the studio but not one single one is a hit. LOL

  • Omigawd Jeff! YOU have nightmares about your old radio days too??? I have a recurring dream that my host tosses to me for news and I have nothing prepared - no script, the computer won't let me in, or I can't get my mic open! I always wake up in a panic - It's AWFUL! What is THAT all about??
  • Jeff...that is a GREAT picture. LOVE it. The lazy susan cart rack in the back!! And my gosh...a TURN-TABLE :-)

Oh, and the old speaker phone box.

  • Oooh girl! Kinda "in the light" and "out of the light." But looking to crossover REAL SOON 'cuz I truly have stories!! Thanks for the invite.
  • Thanks for the invite, Trish! Hope you don't mind that I took you up on it even though I've never been a DJ. I came from an acting background to voice over. I've always been amazed at what you folks do! Boggles my mind! I think it could be a very scary position to be in. I'm just used to reading the words they give me. It sounds like you've all had some exciting times, and I love the funny stories! Wish I'd been brave enough to give it a shot!
