  • Hi All! Bob Bergen is coming to Chicago to teach a very different kind of VO workshop. He’s calling it “VO Group Therapy”. One of the main issues he’s found with his students over the years is, as talented as they may be, they aren’t focused & specific in their business strategies & goals. Their approach, both business & creative, is vague. Vague goals will bring vague results.

In this weekend workshop, he works in a group & one-on-one to guide attendees to focus, define, & confront their VO career with a specific and strategic road map. This intensive will cover all aspects and genres of voice-over.

Note: This is not Bob's in-studio/on mic animation voiceover workshop.

Here’s a link with all of the info:http://www.bobbergen.com/images/VO_G...nd_28_2013.pdf

Space is limited and is selling out quickly! Contact me for more info or to register. You can also send any questions directly to Bob!

    See you there!

  • Hello Morgan.  I'd likely share the task with someone.  I sent you an e-mail with my phone number.  Please give me a call when you have a chance.
  • Hi, Cecil. Until a few months ago, I was the organizer for ChiVO, Chicago's VO meet-up. I have since moved to LA and was sad to see the group go on hiatus. If you are interested in taking the contact list off my hands (or sharing the task with someone), there are many VO actors who would be ecstatic to have the group back.
  • Although based out of LA now, I was one of the top voice-over guys in Chicago in the Spanish category. Hope to see more Chicago voice-over guys and gals join this group. Sorry can't be there on the 9th. Miss Chicago voice-overs and actors. They're the best!
  • @Eric  I don't believe that the ChiVO group has met in a while but there's another group of voice actors meeting on Nov. 9th.  I'm not the organizer but check out the message below and RSVP if you'd like to go.  Hope to see you there!

It’s finally time for our new group to meet and get started!  We’ve got our first meeting date and location planned –and it promises to be a great meet-up evening for all!  All we need is YOU to attend!

Mark your calendar for Wednesday evening, November 9th.  We’ll begin at 7 pm and wind things up by 9 pm. We’ve got a meeting room (which has been graciously provided to us at no charge) at Colonial Café, 2555 W. Bunker Hill Drive, Algonquin IL 60102.  (Bunker Hill and Randall Rd., next to the Holiday Inn.)
Phone number for Colonial Café is 847-458-6600.

We encourage you to plan to eat dinner that evening with our group!  Colonial Café serves great food at an affordable price.  Please check out their menu online at www.colonialicecream.com and we think you’ll agree!

Please plan to come to meet everyone in our new group, and invite other voice-over friends to join you, as well.  We’d love to have a great first turn-out that evening!

Think of what discussion topics or program suggestions you might like to have covered in our meetings. This group belongs to all of us, so come prepared to share your thoughts and needs with all!

Please RSVP by email to Kathy or David as to whether you will be able to attend!  We’ve got a few surprises planned for everyone!

“Remember it’s not just what you say, but HOW you say it!”

  • Greetings everyone.  Will there be a meet & greet anytime soon?  I'd love to be a part of it.
  • Hello, all! One of the best VO instructors around, Bill Holmes, is coming from Los Angeles to Chicago for a one-day workshop on Saturday June 18! Bill's instruction is off-the-charts great due to his experience and 25 years in the industry. Bill is a working professional on both sides of the glass and is definitely someone to know if you want to move forward in your career. Bill is a riot--if this is any clue, his workshops are usually called "Margaritas, Mojitos, and Microphones." He can be reached at VODoctor@gmail.com. Please let him know I sent you. • Hi, all. ChiVO (Chicago Voice-over) is having a meeting March 10, 6:00 at New Wave Coffee (2557 N Milwaukee). We'll be discussing business etiquette: what's okay to say, when you keep your mouth shut, and when is too soon to follow up, for example. Drop me a line if you need more details, and I hope to see you there!
