  • Hi Joe is AT4040 recommended for tracking VOs? Checked it out recently at the B&H mic demo sound-booth - sounded good for the price

what pre-amp should i use with it?

    Thanks

  • LOVED watching you work! Awesome job...thanks for sharing Joe!

  • Hey Joe, look forward to hearing your valuable insight!

  • I heard that you may know of a Voice Over Industry Meet Up in LA?  Is this true and do you have details if so?
  • Joe--I love listening to you! Just fantastic work.  Keep up the great work, and I'd love to connect and chat some time:)
  • Thanks Steve. it looks a little easier to read a script around instead of a big pop filter around a u87 and a wave shell.
  • Hi Stefan. On an earlier episode, Joe said that the mic is a Sennheiser 416.
  • Joe you Rock!

ASK JOE is a very useful view into our world.

Can anybody tell me what mic Joe's using?

Do you stay at home/studio for most of your work?

I do the same stuff over here in London, I have to travel to sometimes 7 studios a day, and maybe work 10% in my studio at home. Ive done the mobile thing too with source connect in a new chevy suburban. Its a better sound booth than some expensive places i've worked. How times have changed.

  • Happy to say that we'll be doing a live video broadcast from the Don LaFontaine Poker Classic right here on VoiceOverUniverse on Saturday, September 24th.  The event starts at 5pm Pacific and goes till 10pm.  George Whittam will be taking you on a tour of the party and fundraiser with some pretty cool hi-tech video tricks he has up his sleeves.  The roving camera will make you feel as if you're at the party.

Thanks to Zurek for making VU available to the Foundation for this fun event.

If you're in the LA area and can come to the party in person, please do.  It's being held at my house and if you'd like to play in the Poker Tournament, tickets are $250.  You will receive $1000 in chips for the tournament (prizes include a Sony 32" Flatscreen TV with Google TV built-in)  If you'd like to just come for the party, food, drinks, music and fun...those tickets are $125.  Everything is tax deductible.

Here's the facebook page with more info.

In either case, we'll either see you here on VU on Saturday, September 24th or here at my house for the event.

    All the best,  Joe Cip
  • Joe could we get a comment from you about the TMZ story or show us the contract you had with Ted Williams? So that we can get all this mud off your name.
