    Another great vid, Joe!
Thanks for the pop screen info...do those come as a pair or did you just decide to use two?
I have one and it works for me...but...the more the merrier, right? ;-)
    mmmmmmmmmmmm...knishes! :-)

LOL...knishes!! :-) I looked it up for ya Liz. It's called the Popless Voice Screen. The website is: www.popfilter.com. I use the 3.5 inch diameter screens. There are two of them in tandem. It costs $67.00. Here's the info from the site:

The VAC-3.5c comes with two 3.5 inch diameter acoustic screens, ball & socket screen holder, a 15 inch long slim gooseneck and mic stand clamp, all black. The low profile diameter of the 3.5-inch screens allows easy reading of copy or lyrics. Voice over, production and broadcasting studios prefer this model which clamps onto the same mic stand as your microphone.

  • Hey Joe -

Great vid again. If it hasn't been mentioned before, how about a rundown of your gear in a future episode? Or maybe what you have compared to what you plan on using in your new studio.
Thanks for letting us in your world!

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love your videos. How did you do the car sequence? Laptop on the dashboard or regular video camera?

My cameraman is tiny, he calls Verne Troyer, "The Big Guy." He was sitting on the dashboard, holding on for dear life. Joe

  • Hi Joe. Well, I took the plunge. Got a Neumann U87ai 40th anniversary collector's edition. It sounds like I'm talking through butter. Really smooth. All from your recommendation. Thank you very much! And I understand it will hold its value. I have a question: I could use a bit more "crisp" sound, or more "treble" as we used to call it. Which direction should I put the three settings? The two switches in the back (switching inward our outward) and the one slider up front. I figure you have used the 87 long enough to know the best settings for what I'm talking about. Thank you. And thanks again for the recommendation! I can't wait to redo my demos with this prize.
  • Am I the only one can no longer view these videos? is there a mirror that I can use to get to them?
